Christi Brown (HSPRAC), Deborah Gaither (GECEMA), & Craig Scott (ECVOAD) provide an update on the Relief For Rosenberg Drive
The Gadsden/Etowah County Emergency Management Agency and the Humane Society Pet Rescue & Adoption Center have teamed up to offer assistance.  GECEMA, with whom we partner closely with, has selected an area similar to ours to launch efforts. The HSPRAC has been tasked with the animal side of the relief efforts. Thanks to our EMA and our participation with VOAD, the HSPRAC director has been in contact this morning with the emerging leaders in the Rosenberg, Texas community. EMA and VOAD are coordinating an effort for trucks to depart our area next Friday morning to Rosenberg. In speaking directly with the residents and volunteers of Rosenberg, we learned their specific needs for animal relief. We are posting them here and encourage you to utilize this long weekend to secure items. NOTE: DELIVERY OF HARVEY SUPPLIES WILL NEED TO BE DELIVERED AT GADSDEN MALL PARKING LOT BETWEEN 12PM AND 6PM WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH & 7TH, with more days being added if necessary. Because of their situation and what we learned post Katrina, we want to send only what they are in need of. These items will be delivered to residents with pets, local shelters (if operable), and residents in shelters that allow pets. Please follow Relief for Rosenberg (#Relief4Rosenberg) on Facebook for real time updates!
